Senior 2020

In preparation for senior pictures, I rounded up my very willing 8-year-old senior wannabe to model. We visited some of the spots I plan to use and got to work. Actually, I should say we started playing. There was definitely more playing than working going on.

Cousins

The last time we did pictures of the Peavler cousins, there were three fewer children in the photo. It was kind of hectic to try to get five kids to look at the camera at once, so we may have excessively procrastinated as we added babies number six, seven, and eight into the family. As my mother-in-law's birthday approaches, we elected to give the grandkid photo shoot another college try. I did not capture everyone's eye contact or eight beautiful smiles, but I did capture eight adorable people who I have known and loved from their very first day of life. I know Grandma Deb will feel the same way. I hope she will be proud to hang one of these on her wall.

Madison, Squared

Madison invited her little classmate over for their first sleepover at our house over the weekend. Her name is also Madison. Their constant chatter and excitement brought back lots of memories from my childhood sleepovers. We kept up with sleepover tradition by painting their fingers and toes bright purple. They played house and barbies along with the Wii, and watched Hannah Montana well into the night. I thought they were pretty adorable. I could not resist the opportunity to practice taking pictures, and so I easily convinced the Madisons to have a sleepover photo shoot. They were professionals--adding their own props and a supermodel pose.

Feeling Like a Photographer

I have always loved pictures. I love to take pictures. I love to look at them. I especially love to edit, embellish, and scrapbook them. I finally have an awesome camera. I started out playing with it. A lot. But the more I work with it, the more I feel like I am practicing instead of playing. It makes me feel like I am not just a girl who likes to take pictures. It makes me feel like I am a photographer. So I am going to keep my day job, but I have decided to be a part-time photographer as well. I wanted to start this blog so I can easily see how much I am learning and growing along the way. So far, the subjects I am photographing belong to me, but soon I will start branching out and taking pictures of other family and friends. I promise the adorable little people that I have on the way to this blog will make you smile. There might even be some big kids, too. Wish me luck!
